ABSTRACT
By adding the sibling dimension to the Oedipus complex we have established a family dynamic field, which now has three conflict axes and three axes of love/desire in and between the generations. As mentioned in Chapter 1, there may be a tendency to associate family with warmth, nurture, love and protection against a cold and materialistic world. That is, however, a view that is highly ideological and romanticizing with only a tenuous relation to real life.
