ABSTRACT
Concluding the book, this chapter summarizes the benefits and challenges for campus communities considering memorialization. Benefits include promoting campus dialogue about past events and encouraging broader interest and engagement in crisis management. The challenges include incorporating multiple perspectives in the process, determining criteria for a suitable location and sustainable design, and navigating the personal impact of working on such an emotionally charged project. Finally, this chapter suggests areas for further research into campus-based memorialization.
