ABSTRACT

Hyperlinking your products to each other is an effective way to showcase your store to potential buyers and hopefully secure repeat customers. Fortunately, hyperlinking is one of the simplest and fastest strategies to boost sales.

WHERE: hyperlinking happens in your product description.

WHEN: every product should hyperlink to at least one other product. Ideally, each item would hyperlink to a bundle.

HOW: have you ever hyperlinked in an email, for example? It’s the same. In your product description, highlight what you want to hyperlink, and then click the hyperlink icon. In the pop-up that follows, you’ll copy and paste the URL to your other product or bundle.

WHAT TO WRITE: sometimes you might hyperlink an item in a sentence within your description: “This matching quiz on Latin prefixes pairs perfectly with this quiz on Latin suffixes.” More often, however, you will link your product to related items at the bottom of your description. Here’s an example: “If you are teaching a unit on numbers, check out my Numbers Bundle, which includes 74this product and a variety of related products sold at a discount.” (Tip: don’t mention the precise percentage discount of the bundle. It is very common for sellers to discount bundles at different rates and/or to change the discount after sales and ratings have gone up.)
