ABSTRACT
The BRI is a form of modern globalization. The Silk Roads history tells the story of ancient globalization. Answers toward the BRI lie partly in history. The institutional characters of case countries can also trace their origins to their country histories. They dictate the institutional strategies that the B&R investors and implementors can take in these specific institutional contexts.
