ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we will visit the detailed case files of Michael, Michelle, and Jadon. The implantation of level-3 digital play therapy (DPT) via telehealth proved successful during the COVID-19 pandemic. Three amalgamated case presentations are provided within this chapter to highlight some ways DPT can be used via telehealth. Michael, a 12-year-old with extreme social anxiety, explored systems, patterns, and personal needs through the use of YouTube videos and Google Jamboard. Michelle utilized Animal Crossing in session to manage significant and sudden anxiety, stress, and changes in her life at the age of 11. At the end, we learn about Jadon, an 8-year-old who presented with depressive symptoms. Jadon utilized a number of games within the Roblox offerings. With so many ways to meet client’s personal, societal, familial, and cultural needs, DPT has provided a structure within which clinicians can conceptualize and provide phenomenal services.
