ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the potential position of Sexual Grounding Therapy (SGT) in the world. It covers its relationship with the world of mainstream psychotherapy, its relationship with the social and political establishment and its relationship with non-mainstream ways of working with sexual and relationship problems. It also looks at psychotherapy as either a potential radical force or as a method of supporting the status quo. It brings in the concept of therapy supporting clients in challenging the establishment and the dangers of state-funded therapy and, by implication, state-regulated therapy.
