ABSTRACT
In this chapter the major conceptual problems of attachment theory are discussed. This refers primarily to the definition of core constructs, starting with what attachment is, what is sensitivity, what is an internal working model, what is exploration etc. Another major problem is the mistaken and selective reference to knowledge from other domains, most prominent evolutionary theory and primate research.
