ABSTRACT
In Understanding Language Contact, we put the connection between language contact and the bilingual language user at the center and offered an up-to-date “unified approach” to language contact. Our goal was to help the reader to see the connection between what bilinguals do when they use two languages and how what they do in their conversations can potentially change their languages in the long run.
