ABSTRACT
This chapter offers a theoretical framework for the research. The key theoretical assumptions (i.e., transnational migration, and transnational migrant families) that informed and guided the research are outlined, and the insights obtained from the literature review are then integrated into the discussion of how the theories are relevant to and used in the research.
