ABSTRACT
Jean-Jacques Rousseau ascribes his lifelong passion for music to the sweet singing given to him as an infant and small child by the aunt Suson to whom he owed his life and his early upbringing. Modern psychologists would not wish to discredit this explanation; we know now how great is the influence of early experiences upon the whole of our lives.
