ABSTRACT

It is important for social workers to have good written and oral communication skills. Written communication in the form of emails or reports is often the first introduction you may have to people you will be working with—clients, agency staff, other professionals, and, as a student, professors. Strong professional writing skills help pave the way to success with your clients and your career, and make a good first impression. Alternatively, poor or ineffective writing can limit professional opportunities and could be detrimental to your clients.
