ABSTRACT

This chapter traces the trajectory of Ye Prosperity as the capital of Former Yan and its Decline in Former Qin and Later Yan. In the autumn years of Later Zhao, a war erupted and the Ye city was occupied and destroyed. Then Former Yan exterminated the Ran Wei regime, removing the capital from Ji (now Beijing) to Ye and carrying on the capital layout of Later Zhao. In ad 370, Former Qin subjugated Former Yan, and the city deteriorated. However, it served as a military stronghold in the Former Qin and Later Yan.
