ABSTRACT

– Advocates of interorganisational relations play a key role in supporting and promoting the enhancement of the EU–NATO relationship through their bargaining and negotiation skills, their significant contributions to the formalisation of their interactions and their contributions to their military operations, especially when their mandates overlap. They acknowledge the benefits of closer EU–NATO interorganisational cooperation and fill key positions, such as the UK as the transatlantic bridge, and they furthermore make use of their networks and bilateral relations to actively promote their view on the EU–NATO relationship among other member states. Countries among advocates include the UK, the US, the Baltics and Central and Eastern European countries.
