ABSTRACT

This chapter covers how to identify and then start the Business Process Management (BPM) activities, how to ensure the peoples have identified and engaged with key stakeholders, and how to ensure that all stakeholders and their expectations are matched and understood by all. In the case of a business- or process-issue-led project, sufficient high-level business and process analysis needs to be completed during the phase to enable the organization to determine a logical place to start as well as determine the effort required to execute the BPM activity and the possible benefits. If the operational business wishes to change the scope of a strategy-led method activity, it will be necessary to take this back to the project sponsor and executive leadership, as it may have an impact upon the organization strategy. The end-to-end process list provides an overview of the main processes of the organization and may already have been created during the foundations phase.
