ABSTRACT
The “develop” phase is mostly completed in parallel with the people phase. Care should be taken when developing a new system; it should provide sufficient flexibility to meet business changes in near future and in the longer term and to cater for frequent changes in business processes. Automation might also influence the interaction with suppliers, partners, and customers. With web services and service-oriented architecture, it becomes much easier to integrate processes across the borders of organization. During the develop phase, it is important to communicate the scope and proposed extent of automation to all stakeholders. Agile provides a large number of benefits. However, it is critically important that the agile methodology is followed correctly. Business Process Management (BPM) activities can fail with agile because of the incorrect execution of the agile methodology. During develop phase, an organizational business process architecture committee could be used to ensure the target operating model is delivered and the particular BPM activity is consistent.
