ABSTRACT

The implement phase deals with the actual rollout of the new processes, the updated people design, and, if appropriate, any developed IT solutions. This is the phase where a start is made at realizing the benefits outlined in the business case. The Implement phase is crucial as it is where it is confirmed that the people, process, and technology solution delivered by the Business Process Management (BPM) activity is fit for purpose, allowing business-as-usual to be conducted, and if benefits designated in the business case can be realized. Ideally, preparation for business testing should have started during the design of new process(es). This could have occurred during either the innovate or the develop phase of the project, depending upon the particular circumstances. Often individual or small group meetings with key stakeholders can make them feel special and can result in significant benefits. Plans can be shared, under nondisclosure agreements if necessary, with important customers and suppliers as early as possible.
