ABSTRACT
This chapter deepens the historical genesis and its current significance. With regard to its genesis, the individual factors and tendencies are broken down: secularization, universalism, naturalization, and idealization in a state of tension, historicization, individualization. Finally, the chances and problems of its further development are discussed in order to interpret the current globalization process.
