ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 of the Routledge Course in Arabic Business Translation includes English and Arabic finance translation texts. This chapter is divided into seven sections: accounting and financial statement, banking, Islamic banking and finance, corporate financing and bonds, futures and derivatives, market competition, and microfinance. The English and Arabic finance texts and the translation exercises in this chapter aim to provide students with vocabulary items which are mainly used in finance texts. Be it English or Arabic, each text is followed by a translation of the key finance terms. The translation exercises contained in the chapter promote different translation skills which range from translating individual English and Arabic lexical items to translating phrases, sentences, and short passages. In addition, the translation exercises are designed to give students actual translation experience.
