ABSTRACT

The background to risk formulation is described before two different models of risk formulation are outlined. The six point risk formulation model is the one featured in the Pocket Guide and described in detail, looking at: Who is at risk? What, specifically, is the risk? How is the person at risk? Where is the person at risk? When is the person at risk? Why is the person at risk? However, the Pocket Guide acknowledges the person being assessed might arrive at a completely different formulation and looks at what this might look like, as well as how to bridge the gap between the two.
