ABSTRACT

The Georgia 3Rs Program began with engagements from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) and Bleckley County Public Schools (BCPS). Over time, though, Gwinnett and other suburban Atlanta counties demonstrated a more robust commitment to implementing the 3Rs approach. This chapter describes this growing commitment, observations and feedback from the training sessions, and recommendations based on our overall analysis. Specifically, the chapter presents the need for a diverse curriculum for many different classes in a range of school contexts, critiques, and recommendations from participants regarding teachers and the problem of having too little time, and sessions and survey results.
