ABSTRACT

Organizations, entities, individuals, employees and employers have been exposed to these significant changes over the last decades, with special relevance in the world of work. These have been generally driven by the rise of technology and increase in globalization, the financial and economic crisis, and as well the shifting social values along with new sociotechnical paradigms shaping economic and institutional dynamics. Born in the early 1900, the “Human Resources (HR) function’s overall purpose is to ensure that the organization is able to ‘achieve success’ through people”. Initially considered as a super-administrator providing services that produce more efficient organizations, HR leaders have increasingly gained in strategic importance and their own value proposition has evolved. The foresight initiative is aimed at illuminating futures of the world of work and proposing possible, concrete, actionable new disciplines composing the HR function in the years to come.
