ABSTRACT

Considering that HR structures and activities are extremely diverse and depend on organizations’ size, purpose or industries. Influenced by the traits of futures, existing traditional human resources (HR) disciplines will evolve, and new focus areas will emerge. While some should be urgently addressed, others represent the opportunity to rapidly gain a competitive advantage attracting and retaining talents, and some could be considered necessary for organizations willing to prepare for low-probability, high-risk contingencies. While many existing HR disciplines will remain highly relevant and fundamental, the current pace of change and disruptions call for an evolution of HR identity and HR action. All new HR disciplines that are listed in this quadrant are ripe, and will become mainstream at the speed of relevance. If HR departments do not take action and integrate these disciplines, they will lose the momentum and literally move backwards compared to other market players.
