Introduction

The Sale of Goods Act 1979 consolidates the amendments made from time to time to the Sale of Goods Act 1893. Apart from some minor insertions made necessary by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, the 1979 Act does not make new law. Consequently, subject to any changes made by the earlier amendments, cases and comment on the interpretation of the 1893 Act continue to be relevant.
