ABSTRACT

Creating a routine and finding time for contemplation and overcoming any potential barriers to reflection will support the people in unscrambling their brain, reduce the chaos and open their mind to reflection and reflective writing. An array of colours may bring the people reflective planning and writing energy, for example, in a weekly reflective journal the people will always find colour from pink, orange and yellow to green all of which signify calm, peace and energy. Reflection is about looking back upon experiences, reflecting in the moment but also taking time within the process to reflect forward. There are many methods and approaches to reflection lending itself to creativity, so do not be afraid to be creative and curious in an approach to reflection. Pomodoro, an Italian word for tomato and the pomodoro technique devised by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s is a time management method the people could use to support reflective writing.
