WHEN she retired to her apartment, Mrs. Campbell entered, to say that Jamie had been at home, and left word for the young lady that Mrs. Fraser, the merchant’s weef, had been to London, some years back, for five pounds; but that every thing was dearer now; and besides she had a large family of children, and only the shop to live upon, so she went as cheap as a prudent woman could do.
