ABSTRACT

Barely remitting shame obscures shattered self-esteem and may proffer suicide in the hand of friendship, hope for viability gone despite author's efforts at salvage. Excess shame makes it public there is nobody in the world willing to show him love. His collusion with their proclamation that shame is justified is critical to acceptance of his annihilation. When shame and guilt are welded together using cruelty, with no recognition of any good in the individual, there arises perverse excoriation and eternal death. There are today many people who are less intimidated by shame and guilt and who reject the abuse of psychological forces that fuels them. Perhaps shame can never be entirely dispelled because it is a part of him, of who they all are.
