ABSTRACT

A pact is created by both parties who agree tacitly to be triumphed over in return for an undeclared covenant to never part. The sexual component of these pacts led to investigations of distinctions between affectionate love, sexuality and aggressive sexual conquests. Sessions might begin with a tiff about someone, usually his wife or a business colleague, which was being diplomatically handled by author's patient until he felt justice wasn't prevailing. Over time, he became more litigious in business conflicts and concerned at what he described as his wife's escalating outbursts, worrying that she might be mentally ill. He began an affair with a work colleague and found the sex exciting but when she pressured him to leave his wife, to the point of threatening to tell her of the affair, he had her quietly removed with a compensation payment and a signed order to remain silent.
