ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the major problem many companies have when addressing human error/behavioural issues: namely, that exhorting individuals to try harder and/or have a better attitude simply doesn’t work in the medium-to-long term. Instead, to change the key behaviours required, it is better to change the environment and facilitate individuals’ improvement. This is as true of wellbeing as it is of safety, and this chapter addresses the relationship between mindset and mental health and error.
