ABSTRACT
Balancing short- and long-term growth is both an art and a science. Effective innovation engines balance resources across core, adjacent, and breakthrough business activities. Innovationedge has adapted the Alchemy of Growth’s Three Horizon framework to provide business leaders with a clear guidance for business development in these horizons along a product, technology, capabilities, services, and market development continuum. The chapter ends by suggesting how companies can wisely allocate resources across Horizon 1, Horizon 2, and Horizon 3.
