ABSTRACT

Competitive advantage comes from leveraging and continually building your unique strengths and assets. Innovationedge has identified three primary innovation capability building blocks: product/service creation, collaboration, and digital innovation. Chapter 2 describes each building block in detail, demonstrates how each of these capabilities plays a role in effective opportunity identification and innovation, and suggests how managers can build these capabilities through internal investments and external partnerships. Throughout, it illustrates the importance of leadership and fostering a culture of learning and experimentation where failure is not only accepted, but expected.
