ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 introduces and positions the case of Vietnam within the context that public diplomacy (PD) has been conducted and studied in many parts of the world. It explains why Vietnamese PD warrants further academy scrutiny. It presents the main questions and hypotheses of the research, as well as the general design of this research.
