ABSTRACT
Chapter 10 discusses multiple regression and provides examples of the types of research questions that multiple regression can be used to address. The chapter also explains how a multiple regression equation is used to predict a continuous outcome variable. In addition, the chapter describes ways to assess the goodness of fit of a multiple regression model and explains the basis for testing the statistical significance of a regression model, regression coefficients, and constant. The chapter also discusses the key assumptions that should be met in order to conduct a multiple regression analysis. At the end of the chapter, there is an example data set and step-by-step video tutorial that demonstrates how to conduct a multiple regression analysis using SPSS and Excel software. There is also an example write-up that shows how to report the results of this type of analysis.
