ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the main objects to which a literary analysis may be applied: (1) a literary (creative) work; (2) a corpus, when considered in itself and not for the texts it contains; (3) a method or approach; (4) a theory; (5) a theoretical concept or a methodological concept; (6) a theoretical expression (e.g., the different definitions of the word “metaphor”) or a methodological expression; (7) a theoretical text, a methodological text, or a text of applied analysis; (8) another kind of literary phenomenon (e.g., the life of the author, the socio-historical context of a work, a literary event, etc.).
