ABSTRACT
This chapter explores how the different institutional and structural contexts shape – to varying degrees – the capability of the different family members of the Chinese transnational families to deploy and exchange care within and across borders. It outlines how these institutional regimes condition transnational care arrangements, and it also explores to what degree the availability of different care resources, especially human capital, depends on such regimes.
