ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a summary of the key findings presented in this book. It highlights the need to give voice and visibility to other actors, moving beyond the adult-centred perspective that dominates migration research; to question hegemonic models of family, childhood and care; and prejudiced assumptions – based on the ageist stereotypes, ethnocentric conceptions and financially focused models prevalent in migration research – regarding the direction of flows of care. Lastly, some final reflections on reclaiming care as a line of research are provided.
