Introduction

Chapter 1 introduces the stories of three young people from Central America to contextualize the realities of youth migrating northwards. The introduction briefly explains the research project, the Rights for Children and Youth Partnership, that led this project. This chapter also seeks to situate the authors within the topic, using critical reflexivity to acknowledge their positionality and role within the context of Central America, the Global South, and the Global North. Finally, the chapter provides a breakdown of the following chapters and insight into what the book aims to achieve.
