ABSTRACT
The National Climate Assessment released by the United States Global Change Research program tells that the earth is warming, and to react. Climate modelling is both less exact and more reliable than hurricane planning. Climate modelling can be taken more seriously than any weather report. Hurricane Dorian was a monster which inflicted terrible damage on the Bahamas, but the winds, stormwater flooding, and tidal surge did not cause damage in Miami. In military terms, global warming is a threat multiplier. People need to be as vigilant with climate change as the military is with absolutely everything. Mayor Stoddard is a biology professor at Florida International University and has the unusual niche of being a small-town mayor-scientist who built a national profile as a climate leader by appearing in shows like the National Geographic Channel’s Years of Living Dangerously in which he talks with actor Jack Black in an episode called "Saving Miami".
