ABSTRACT
This chapter extends the approaches to developing academic skills in the previous chapter by focussing on reading comprehension. It also seeks to develop skills in learning specialist vocabulary and critical analysis via the use of writing ladders, games and puzzles, mnemonics, and reading circles. It helps to develop understanding of areas such as differentiating the learning of specialist vocabulary, using mnemonics.
