ABSTRACT
This chapter offers a historic account of the changing and dynamic contexts of the macroscopic environment of Mainland China and Hong Kong under “One Country, Two Systems”. It argues that the educational choice of Hong Kong students to study in the mainland universities has its contextualized background embedded in the ever-changing and inextricable political/policy, economic, and sociocultural nexuses between Hong Kong and Mainland China.
