ABSTRACT

At the beginning of the twentieth century, Freud had the intuition that the study of infantile dreams would have opened a possibility to obtain useful information about the dream process. Not only do his insights support the investigation of infantile dreams, but this in turn allows for the acquisition of useful information about adults’ dreams and the dream process overall. As this enquiry has evidenced, the systematic study of infantile dreams corroborates many existing psychoanalytic concepts about dreams, and the area has much potential for further research.
