ABSTRACT
The Select Committee of the House of Commons appointed to inquire into the conduct of the police at Cold Bath Fields had a distinguished membership representative of all parties. It included Lord Althorp, Sir Robert Peel and Sir George Grey. The first meeting took place on July 18,1833 and the Committee met subsequendy on eight occasions. A remarkably full report was published on August 23, 1833, five weeks after the first meeting.
