ABSTRACT

The first two chapters introduced the scientific study of adaptive learning, providing historical context and an overview of methodological approaches. The second section of the book, encompassing four chapters, reviews the empirical literature that serves as the basis of our understanding of adaptive learning principles. The apparatuses and measurement procedures used to study predictive and control learning will be described, along with the basic phenomena, major variables influencing the processes, and examples of applications of adaptive learning principles to understanding and transforming the human condition.
