ABSTRACT

Noting that many commentators have observed that the excellence project is a moral endeavour, rooted in and dependent on storytelling this chapter offers a map of Peters’ storytelling which, while it confirms this impression, nonetheless, documents a protracted 20 year decline in Tom Peters’ storytelling that has however recently reversed. This decline is documented and rationalized. The chapter then turns to consider the story-types preferred by Tom Peters and observes that epic tales dominate. The consequences of this patterning are considered and explained.
