ABSTRACT

Building on the work of Martin et al. this chapter offers a consideration of Peters’ storytelling that is refracted through ‘the uniqueness paradox’. The uniqueness paradox observes that while most formations stake a claim to cultural uniqueness, manifestations of this uniqueness developed through storytelling tend to yield seven common story-types. This chapter maps Peters’ storytelling within the schema suggested by Martin et al. and in highlighting key gaps suggests that Peters’ storyworld lacks authenticity.
