ABSTRACT
This chapter considers the position of women within the excellence project. Noting Peters’ very public conversion to what he has termed ‘the women’s thing’ in 1996 this chapter considers the representation of women within the storyworld of the excellence project and offers a comparison of Peters’ conduct before and after his epiphany of 1996. The chapter however discerns little meaningful change in Peters’ representation of women.
