ABSTRACT
The growth of a career takes time and planning with openness to change along the way. This chapter assists the reader in understanding how a career can morph and change over time. First, learning that continual growth is required will place the reader in the mindset to never stop learning. Next, the processes of goal-setting and progression-planning are detailed along with real-world examples from the author’s own career. How to learn to prepare for the unexpected and be open to change is described with detailed examples of adapting to the unforeseen.
