ABSTRACT

This section of modules or learning plans relate to the benefits of managing our thoughts and perceptions related to stressful situations. By shifting how we think, we may be better able to engage in our self-care, productive and leisure occupations. Topics include focusing on personal strengths, problem solving, intentional positive occupation and gratitude. Training occurs in groups but can be adapted for individual use. Training follows the adult learning model and is collaborative. Clients complete handouts to demonstrate learning and are encouraged to apply the learning to personal and meaningful daily occupation. Clients are empowered to manage their mental health through more balanced and realistic thinking.
