ABSTRACT

The NASA clean air study shows that adding plants to our indoor space is great for purifying the air. Having real plants and foliage in our environment has lots of positive benefits, including boosting our mood, productivity, concentration and creativity. There are many to choose from – money plants, cacti, palms, spider plants – that can all have great impact, but always research those that are safe around children. Natural loose parts can make great open-ended resources that give children the connection with nature as they work actively with them. They can be added throughout our areas of provision like the play-dough for example where children can explore texture and pattern.
