ABSTRACT
In Scandinavia focuses on creating spaces where people feel comfortable and welcome. This is called creating a “sense of arrival” and it's the special feeling someone experiences during the few seconds or so after arriving in our home, setting or environment. This is critical, as it sets a tone and leaves those visiting the peoples reassured and excited while also creating a great first impression. Part of the sense of departure is about creating a link between home and school too. Daily a member of staff would handwrite a summary of the day for parents to read on an easel and include a few photos that had been printed off.
