ABSTRACT
Within the EYFS there is a set of teaching standards that practitioners should regularly be reflecting on in order to ensure that their practice is maintained to a high standard. The teaching standards provide a guideline for how practitioners can bring more to their class and how they can better equip themselves to support children in the early years. Learning English is the only way for an EAL child to have access to frameworks and curricula as they continue their education. Working with children is not just being in a setting of early learners but taking on the responsibility for their learning and their earliest educational outcomes. This should be taken seriously, especially as early education is often not looked upon as being as important as primary or secondary education. The EYFS can be a complicated and expansive framework that encompasses the earliest experiences of a child's early life.
